Washed Ashore | An Indigo Warren Dunes Wedding Inspiration

As we tip our hats to the sunny (and very toasty!) days of summer, I want to relive this beautiful shoot we created with the beautiful souls behind The Foxglove Studio at the Warren Dunes in Michigan

Finding Perspective Amid the Busy Season

During a time when we were weary in our wedding season, we recognized that we didn't need rest, we needed to create something beautiful and meaningful. That would refresh us more than physical rest could.

So we began our creative journey revisiting places that epitomized Summer to us. Stephen grew up spending parts of his summer on the eastern shores of Lake Michigan and loved watching the sun set over the lake each night.

An Indigo Washed Ashore Inspiration on Warren Dunes

With a nostalgic location in mind, we based our shoot inspiration on the inky color of the sea at sunset. After it's vibrant blues have passed, it deepens to a beautiful indigo color. everything was intended to play off the idea of that indigo water washing ashore in the last light of day.

Enjoy this beautiful session and join me in savoring every last minute of summer!

"Let there be spaces in your togetherness, And let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls... And stand together, yet not too near together: For the pillars of the temple stand apart, And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow." — Kahlil Gibran
