Don't get caught up in the details, Darling

If you and I were together right now, I would be making you coffee and we'd be talking excitedly about your wedding.

Giddy with ideas

I'd love hearing about your plans and would probably grab your arm, and, in sincere Stephanie fashion, gush with an "ohmygosh! I LOVE YOU!" as you tell me all the gorgeous ideas you've concocted for your wedding day.

The stressful reality of wedding planning

Later, at some point in our conversation, I'd probably ask you "so how are YOU doing?" and you'd probably share some of the things that were stressing you out.

Every wedding has them. Little things that just aren't coming together, people with expectations you can't meet, or a fear of not being able to impress the ones you love most.

If that's you, don't worry. This is completely normal when planning a wedding. Though at times, you may wonder how everything is going to work out, if there's one thing I could say to you after listening to you share your beautiful heart, it's this:

Don't get caught up in the details, Darling.

Remember that all these things you are planning are to celebrate the amazing love and commitment you've found in your husband-to-be.

The centerpieces and bouquets aren't a way to impress your friends or get published on the prettiest blog. Those are just details. They are a way to tell your story and to thank the wonderful people who've surrounded you with love on your wedding day.

So when it seems like things aren't coming together or you feel a little inadequate, remember that it's completely normal. But don't let that drag you down. Don't forget the reason you are planning the biggest party you've ever planned! Strengthen your relationships with the ones you love most.
