From the bride:
High School Sweethearts
We thought that we were just friends during high school, but everyone around us could see that we were happiest together. We met in our high school's choir, but became close friends in math class during Christian’s senior year and my junior year.
We started dating after attending my junior prom together and we navigated the challenging years ahead of attending separate colleges. Two years ago, after so many years apart, Christian moved to Madison to be with me and now we're so happy to be married 8 years after it all began.
Planning An Urban and Organic Pritzlaff Wedding
Our wedding style was both urban and organic. We loved the look of exposed brick and a lot of greenery and florals. We picked indigo and copper as our colors, but Christian jokes that our colors really consisted of copper along with every shade of blue because I have an obsession with all shades of the color.
While planning the wedding we also tried to keep our guests in mind every step of the way because we really wanted our wedding day to be about including our loved ones in the beginning of our marriage and to thank them for all of their support along the way.
Finding Organic Wedding Inspiration
My girlfriends made me a Pinterest account about 30 seconds after we got engaged, so we used Pinterest to help with a lot of our initial brainstorming. I also loved finding inspiration on Green Wedding Shoes.
After finding a look that we felt represented us, we found that Pinterest could be a bit overwhelming so we found it most helpful to book vendors that had a similar style to what we were looking for, give them a general taste of what we liked, and then step back to let them create and come up with wonderful florals, photos, food, music, etc.
Our favorite part of our wedding day was the ceremony. We designed it so that each part was very special and spoke directly to us as a couple. We were also able to include many people who are close to us which made it that much more meaningful. Watching my new husband, a talented hip hop dancer tear it up on the dance floor was pretty fun, too.
