I love it when brides plan beautiful weddings. But any wedding can be beautiful. What makes a bride's wedding truly special are the meaningful details they add to reflect their story. Leanne had such a terrific wedding day. It was a golden California day filled with beautiful dresses, dreamy flowers, rustic furniture, and cafe lights strung through the trees. Doesn't that sound pretty? But you know what's the best? Leanne planned these little moments in her day to express her gratitude to the people she loved most. Gifts, handwritten letters, and time. (Um, do you know how tough it can be to find time on a wedding day? Not easy!)
My favorite moment from Leanne's day was the sweetest first look I've ever seen. It was a beautiful father-daughter first look that had EVERYONE in tears. As Leanne's father waited expectantly in the Walnut Groves, he gasped out loud and began crying as she walked the garden trail to his open arms.
During their brief private time together, Leanne gave her father a (much needed!) hankie that she'd written him a thank you note on. He was beaming as he showed off her thoughtfulness to his friends and family the rest of the day. "She gets it from her mom!" he kept joking as he teared up again. He was deeply touched, which I think was exactly what Leanne wanted.
There was something really special that I was reminded of that day. No matter how busy you are, there's something truly special about letting your loved ones know just how they've impacted your life. It doesn't have to be a father-daughter first look, but when you think of something that tells them how you love them, that's when your wedding day becomes truly beautiful!
